Locality removes one layer of friction

AWS announced the availability of Amazon Lightsail in the Asia Pacific Malaysia Region, giving teams a simpler path to local compute, managed databases, containers, and load balancing. AWS also announced EMR Serverless availability in the region for data processing workloads.

For Malaysian operators, locality can help with response times, data-residency conversations, and the practical reality of keeping systems closer to customers and staff. It does not remove the need to choose the right service or design for failure.
